Why Replace My Normal Food With OPTIFAST?

Research shows that the greater the variety and palatability of food in a given meal, the more we eat. A study conducted at Johns Hopkins University has shown that as the variety of food choices decreases, so does our food intake. People eat less when they have fewer food choices!.

When you eat the same foods all the time, you becomes less overstimulated (hungry) and more easily satisfied by those foods. Similarly, foods that are highly attractive tend to be eaten in greater amounts. Limiting the variety and quantity of available foods is known as stimuli-narrowing.

The concept of stimuli-narrowing or stimulus control is based on the theory that people attempting weight management may be able to better manage the amount and types of food they eat if the food choices are limited.
